The Answers Within

To know oneself is the soul’s journey. To release oneself from the ties that limit, constrain and restrict us is not a trivial feat. It requires time, energy, courage, space and love. A lot of love. To know oneself does not mean to only reinforce that which we deem positive in us, but above all to look, to comprehend and to accept that which we deem negative.

Our integrity resides in the union of the positive and the negative, the light and the shadow, our successes and failures. Right now, the pursuit of integration is necessary. In a dark and sealed room can we find both rubble and treasure. Because of our fear of the rubble, we deny ourselves the opportunity to retrieve our own treasures. We resist opening the door.

In the universe nothing disappears, everything transforms. As soon as we open that door, all that was once stowed away inside the room is illuminated by the light in our eyes. Everything takes space, for everything is energy. All this energy is stagnant within us. It blocks and paralyses us. And we fear. We fear that people around us might gain access to this room. We fear recognising our truth within its walls.

For a long time we have been suppressing our will, feelings, opinions, essence and truths. We control and calculate our actions. This is our rubble and treasure. Embedded in the deepest shadow of our beings. Our subconscious. A deep and dark sea. A sea that often rises and drags us toward the deep before returning us back to the beach, naked and ashamed of the movements we unconsciously made in an effort to free ourselves from its strong currents.

It is about time to look inside. To look within. Open this door that frightens us and repress the experience and expression of our feelings. It is time to visit our fears, our ghosts. It is time to get to know them, listen to their stories so that they can release our most beautiful and valuable treasures. And in doing so, they finally become an integral part of our beings.
